Country band Diamond Rio began their career performing at the Opryland USA theme park as the Grizzly River Boys.
∙ In 1991, their song “Meet In the Middle” became the first-ever debut single to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
∙ Diamond Rio holds the record for most CMA Vocal Group of the Year nominations (15), with four wins during the ’90s.
∙ “One More Day,” from 2001, was their first crossover single, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.
∙ They moved from country and adult pop to contemporary Christian music with their 2009 album, The Reason, which was nominated for three Dove Awards.
