Artist Biography
With a distinctively dramatic, new wave-influenced vocal delivery and melodic style, Marina Diamandis' keyboard-driven songs vary from melancholic ballads to shimmering electro-pop and theatrical glam. Her early albums as Marina and the Diamonds fared well on the charts (2012's Electra Heart hit number one, thanks to the Top 20 hit "Primadonna"), but Diamandis soon began co-producing and writing all the songs herself. Her third long-player, Froot (2015), promptly became her biggest worldwide hit, reaching the Top Ten in the U.S. Rebranding as simply Marina, she wrote material for her fourth album as early as 2016, meanwhile collaborating with Clean Bandit for several songs, including the Top 15 British hit "Baby." The double album Love + Fear arrived in 2019. She followed in 2021 with Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land.
