Tay Keith is an expert at creating walls of sound that are both ominous and energizing, taking the heavy drum-and-bass template of trap music and adding novel elements to it. On Drake’s “Nonstop,” Keith’s beat is sparse and peppered with a smattering of hi-hats. He lets playful keys dance up and down the spine of Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE,” and his production on Lil Baby & Gunna’s “Never Recover” is equal parts joyful and ferocious.
