Biografia dell'artista
Australian pop singer Missy Higgins first gained notice with “All For Believing,” a song she wrote as a teenager. She’s gone on to build to a lasting career that’s yielded three No. 1 albums in her home country.
• At 15, while attending boarding school, Higgins wrote “All For Believing” for a school assignment. It earned her an A, and after her sister entered the song into a radio station competition for unsigned artists, it led to a deal with EMI.
• Her 2004 debut album, The Sound of White, yielded two Top 5 Australian hits, including “Scar,” which reached No. 1. The LP topped the Australian charts and won an ARIA Music Award for Album of the Year.
• Higgins’ 2007 follow-up album, On a Clear Night, also topped the charts and spawned a No. 1 single, “Steer.”
• She took a break from music in 2010 and took up indigenous studies at the University of Melbourne. She also acted in the 2010 film Bran Nue Dae.
• With 2012’s The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle, Higgins notched her third straight No. 1 on the Australian albums chart.
• Her fifth album, 2018’s Solastalgia, is concerned with how people’s actions are negatively impacting the planet.
