The Ting Tings quote the cream of all current cool references: DFA, CSS, Lo-Fi, etc. as influences; others may see them as a British version of the Raveonettes, without the overwhelming Phil Spector shadow planning over their heads. They've managed to condense the best collection of pop tricks and hooks in three minutes since the days when new wave and techno-pop ruled the world. "Great DJ" confirms and expands the qualities shown in their first single "This is not my name" and, if you can overcome the off-putting hype surrounding the band, it greatly increases the expectations for their forthcoming debut.  shazam
