The UK charts have been taken over by trashy eurodance as the first number one of 2008 is Swedish DJ Jonas Erik Altberg, who, according to Wikipedia, began his career after overcoming Tourette's syndrome. Under his "Basshunter" moniker he's just conquered the British pop scene, even when his song sounds like any other cheesy trance anthem released over the last ten years. Still, no matter how poor "Now You're Gone" can be, it represents a giant leap in quality compared to the former, X-factor winner, Christmas top hit.  shazam
