The avalanche of young singer-songwriters continues. There seem to be no week without a newcomer appearing on the horizon, via Jools Holland’s TV show as their gateway to fame and fortune. “You give me something” is strong enough to get a lot of attention for this 21-year-old guy from Rugby, whose voice has been compared to legends like Al Green or Otis Redding and it certainly has a notable soul-blues quality. Whether he will shape up into a long-lasting artist or will only be another attempt to cash up on the trend is yet to be seen.
