The song that replaced Flo Rida's "Low" at the top of the US charts seems like the second chapter of the same musical soap opera. In the former, "shawty" bought all the right clothes to get "low" at the dancefloor, in "Love in the club" she's got the attention of a guy, who likes her so much that wants to make love right there. None of the songwriters are likely to win the Pulitzer soon, but at least Usher's track is saved by a nice mid-tempo melody, updated with cranky production courtesy of Polow Da Don, in the eye of a controversy hurricane for using a pre-existing beat from the Garageband software. It doesn't reach the same heights of former hits like "Yeah", but with the current young R&B megastar's media invasion, promoting both his new album and a perfume range, the success in our shores is assured.
