Klaus & Klaus

The German duo of Klaus & Klaus has had a couple of different incarnations (including a time when the duo was a trio), beginning with the pairing of ex-radio DJ Klaus Baumgart with the lead singer from Torfrock, Klaus Büchner. The pair had a huge German hit with their second single, "An der Nordseeküste," and the act was still popular when Büchner left the duo in 1997 to concentrate on Torfrock. The remaining Klaus hooked up with Hamburg musician Claas Vogt and Andreas Newmann to form the trio version of Klaus & Klaus that same year, which lasted until 2000, when Newmann departed, leaving Klaus & Klaus a duo once more. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
