About Mutiny UK
Dylan Barnes -- one-half of the dance duo Mutiny UK -- got his start in music after a move to London, where he played in various funk and jazz collectives throughout town. While in the U.K., Barnes started the piano-driven house concept group Helicopter with like-minded funk guitarist Simon Ratcliffe. From Helicopter, the two moved on to write and record an early version of what would become Mutiny UK. After Ratcliffe departed to form Basement Jaxx, Barnes established the Sunflower imprint and released the Mutiny UK EP Grace in 1996. That same year, he teamed with producer Rob Davy, who had made a name for himself masterminding various house and hip-hop remixes for labels like Tommy Boy. Playing the globetrotting party circuit that stretches from South Beach to Ibiza, the two began to forge a unique sound that drew from their collective background in jazz and reggae, incorporating significant elements of house and disco into the mix. This new incarnation of Mutiny UK proved to be an infectious combination, garnering numerous accolades throughout the dance community. In January of 2003, New York's System Recordings released Mutiny UK's debut North American full-length, In the Now, which drew comparisons to the party-ready grooves of Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

So What P!nk |
| The original girl kisser and full-time naughty star gets back to form, after her last album nearly flopped in the States. It was saved by the last minute success of the reissued single "Who Knew." Her new effort, "Funhouse," looks destined to enjoy a much healthier commercial career and reconquer P!nk's dominant position among today's pop-rock divas, starting with a bang: in just a few days, "So What,", a frantic glam rock tune whose vengeful lyrics are supposed to be about her recent divorce from motocross champ Carey Hart, has already established itself as one of her biggest hits to date and is also P!nk's first solo U.S. chart topper; an unexpectedly happy ending, crowned by the appearance of Hart in its video. | |
