Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers |
|
An irreverent, humorous bunch of scraggly neo-new wave indie rockers, the Teenagers -- Frenchmen Quentin Delafon, Dorian Dumont, and Michael Szpiner -- formed in late 2005. Initially, they formed as a joke; they created a MySpace profile for their nonexistent band and used the comments they received as the inspiration for their first lyrics (as heard on "Fuck Nicole"). The Merok label signed the band and released a couple of the band's singles in 2007, including "Homecoming" (which featured "Fuck Nicole" as a B-side) and "Starlett Johansson" (an obvious and typically goofy paean to actress Scarlett Johansson). The XL label released Reality Check, the band's first album, in early 2008. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
