Spanish singer Mónica Naranjo started singing at a very young age. Naranjo's talent wasn't only her voice. At the age of 14, the enthusiastic teenager was voted Miss Cataluña, a local beauty contest. Cristóbal Sansano became her first producer. After signing up to Sony Music, recording sessions diverted in the release of her debut album in 1994, soon producing the hit song "Sola." In April of 1996, the artist was acclaimed during a performance at Mexico City's Metropolitan Theater. Taking advantage of her popularity, a second album, called Palabra De Mujer, was issued, including a Spanish version of Donna Summer's "McArthur Park." ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
