Alphabeat

Danish pop act Alphabeat, made up of members Anders SG (vocals), Stine Bramsen (vocals), Anders B (guitar), Rasmus Nagel (keyboard), Anders Reinholdt (bass), and Troels Hansen (drums), entered the European pop scene in 2007 with their debut self-titled record. Featuring singles like "10,000 Nights," "Boyfriend," and "Fascination," Alphabeat rocketed to the top of Danish pop charts. Sending three hits to national Top Five, the band piqued interest throughout the European continent after being called "the best band ever" by popjustice magazine. The bandmembers met one another in 2004, and quickly took to the vibrant regional festival scene, building their fan base slowly performance by performance. Incorporating elements of the B-52's and Wham!, Alphabeat's '80s nostalgia-ridden charm proved irresistible to audiences all over the continent. Signed to Copenhagen Records, Alphabeat set out to bring their neon-clad tooth-aching sugar pop to audiences far and wide. Alphabeat featured repertoire written primarily by the band's guitarist Anders B and veteran pop producer Rune Westberg. The record's leading single "Fascination" spread the band's popularity throughout the internet, scoring more than 100,000 plays in just a few short months. The song earned gold status via internet sales alone. Their meteoric national success caught the attention of label execs outside Danish borders, including the international booking agency The Global Talent Group and numerous English record companies hoping to re-release the band's debut album in Great Britain.
