About Angela Ammons
Angela Ammons was 17 years old when Abrupt/Universal signed her to record her debut album in 2001. She had played them demos that had been recorded through a series of lucky breaks during a trip to California. The label paired her with producers Shep and Kenny (Mandy Moore, LFO, Marcy Playground) to record her first pop/rock album, which drew favorable comparisons to other pop stars like Jessica Simpson. Also predictably, Swagger Like Us treads the familiar lyrical territory of women, cash, clothes, guns and rhyming ability.
