About Jay-J
Producer and dance music artist Jay-J has captured the attention of the electronic music world through both his original releases and collaborations with important artists, dance music insiders and outsiders alike. He opened Moulton Studios in 1998 in hopes that his control of a world-class studio could steer dance music's stylistic future. Since opening Moulton Studios, Jay-J has been solicited for production and collaboration by labels based in San Francisco, Chicago, New York and the U.K. Jay-J got his first taste of widespread success in engineering for San Francisco based artist Naked Music, who have since taken the dance music world by storm, their productions earning international acclaim. Moulton Studios soon became a singular force in forging the San Francisco sound, through collaborations with industry icons like Miguel Migs, KasKade, Marques Wyatt, Halo and others. Jay-J has also enjoyed a good deal of crossover success, remixing for Joss Stone, Alicia Keys, David Gray and Lil' Kim, receiving a Grammy nomination in 2003 for his remix of Jill Scott's single "He Loves Me." He was seen by millions performing live on MTV's 2006 Australia Video Music Awards. Jay-J's cutting edge use of recording technology caught the attention of equipment manufactures as well. Digidesigns, Sony Oxford and Apple all feature his works as theme music for their sound design applications. Jay-J's original releases, like Reflections and Loveslapped, which feature the magic and wonder produced by Moulton Studios, continue to chart the stylistic course for West Coast dance music. ~ Evan C. There You'll Be Faith Hill |
| Faith Hill is one of those country stars who enjoys massive popularity in America, with a career stretched over 16 years spawning 11 number ones, but have stuggled to expand it beyond her country's boundaries. "There you'll be", a wishy washy, epic ballad of the "memories of lost love" kind, was penned by the one and only Diane Warren and rejected by Celine Dion. Released in 2001 as the theme soundtrack from the movie "Pearl Harbour"; it reached number three in our charts and became Faith Hill's only UK top ten hit. And now, thanks to -yep, you guessed it- the ever growing power of television, is a surprise re-entry in our singles chart's top ten. Amy Connelly, one of this season's X factor contestants, chose it for a rendition that, apparently, brought jury Cheryl Cole to tears and triggered a downloading frenzy for the original among the popular show's viewers. Expect a greatest hits package released promptly, which could become one of this Christmas unexpected winners. | |
