Show Me Love Show Me Love
Robin S.

'Show Me Love' is one of those club favourites that seems to be re-released just about every year in some slightly different format and still makes it into the charts every time (in fact the 2008 remix made it to No1 in The Netherlands, doing much better than any earlier versions). Much loved by radio stations like Kiss FM, the original came out in 1993 and has been played off and on ever since. Unfortunately for Robin S, her relative paucity of output -only two albums in sixteen years- have meant that her elevation to 'disco diva' status never really came about and despite a few other singles she will be known to most as a one hit wonder. Still, 'Show Me Love' is a vocal house belter, with Robin's gutsy vocals demanding respect over an arpeggiated synth hook line. It has been a particular favourite in Ibiza, where it is still considered de rigueur to drop it into the set for an instant hit of nostalgia. ~Martin Gadgil.
