There is no denying that from the very beginning of his tenure with Pozo-Seco Singers, Don Williams possessed one of the most beautiful reedy baritone voices in the history of folk and country music. He also had a long career with MCA Records and scored numerous hits before finally giving way to a new generation of singers. This compilation collects the material from Williams' later years -- the 1990s -- on BMG associated labels. There are no hits here to speak of, but that said, this shouldn't deter anyone with a sincere interest in Williams music or that glorious tender voice of his, because this material is all top-notch and in many cases is better than the later MCA material given its more stripped down and natural production. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
