Album Reviews

They were edging away from it before, but Evacuate the Dancefloor is Cascada's giant leap away from the vocal trance style that launched their career. Less dreamy and more thumping, the sound here isn't that far from Lady GaGa or Katy Perry's material, but with lyrics that are generally positive and lead singer Natalie Horler remaining effervescent as ever, fans will immediately be able to identify these tracks as the floor-filling act they love. The polished and well-crafted title track will make any pre-club gearing up extra exciting, while the following "Hold On" is a staple of any album from the group: a rousing, motivational anthem. The noisy bits in "Fever" are a surprise, bringing Cascada closer to the electro-house of Benny Benassi and David Guetta, although that's as edgy as it gets. Anyone looking for something "deep" will be disappointed that the heartache numbers -- "Everytime I Hear Your Name" and "Why You Had to Leave" -- choose danceability over poignancy, but if you need a lift, a hip shake, and your hands in the air, Cascada deliver once again. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide

Hotel Room Service Hotel Room Service
Pitbull Feat. Nicole Scherzinger

From Miami to the world, 'Hotel Room Service' sees Pitbull repeating the formula that granted him his first global smash with 'I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)'. After digging again in the vaults of nineties house music in search of a catchy hook, Pitbull found the perfect beat for the task in another of the past decade's one hit wonders - Nightcrawlers' 'Push The Feeling On'. The popular keyboard riff from 'Push The Feeling On' was previously used by David Guetta for a remix of Rihanna's hit 'Don't Stop The Music', but it was the Miami rapper who used the hook to maximum effect generating a huge club smash with 'Hotel Room Service' . The track is a typical Pitbull banger, filled with sexually charged rhymes hoping to drive the ladies from the dancefloor to the hotel room. Taken from Pitbull's fourth album 'Rebelution', 'Hotel Room Service' was one of the definitive singles that broke Pitbull on a global scale in 2009.~Roberto González~ Copyright (c) Shazam Entertainment Limited 2009.
