SHAZAM

This ReCall set collects over two discs a boatload of the recordings Woody Guthrie made for Folkways Records in the 1940s and '50s. Virtually every song that any listener would want is collected here. Of course "This Land Is Your Land" (the commercial one without the third verse) is, but so are "Pretty Boy Floyd," "Ramblin' "Round," "Gypsy Davey," "Pastures of Plenty," "Tom Joad" (both parts), "Do Re Mi," "Talking Dust Bowl Blues," "Jesus Christ," and literally dozens of others; there are 40 tracks in all. Ramblin' Round is a well priced intro to Guthrie, but it may be too much of a good thing. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
