About DJ Roli Fingaz

Ecuadorian-American Bronx native DJ Roli Fingaz increased his profile during 2003 through 2006 with a series of mixtapes that featured just about every high-profile R&B artist from the early '90s onward. DJing was a only a hobby for several years, until he started doing parties and manning his own radio show in the late '90s as a student at SUNY. He became known for his ability to actually mix tracks -- or, in other words, blend them -- as opposed to the norm of merely slamming them together. He also began releasing low-key break records, and within a few years he was working on becoming a full-fledged producer. He has had a couple popular series of mixtapes: the R&B-heavy Fire Blends and the more rap-oriented My Time to Shine. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
