Technical Project Manager

The ideal candidate for this role will have both:

strong software engineering experience in one of our core technology areas (Mobile / Web / Server) and technical project management experience.

Exceptionally we will consider someone with a strong technical background but no project management experience, who wants to move into a technical project management role. However, candidates with project management skills, but without any in-depth technical skills, should not apply.

Shazam attracts independent-thinking, cutting-edge technical people, and a Shazam TPM must relish working with such characters, building systems used daily by millions of customers.

The Technical Project Manager will:

  • Manage projects in an agile environment, using whatever mix of Scrum, Kanban, Lean or other methodologies works best for the project at hand

  • Effectively manage application development and all related deliverables to agreed scope, time and cost.

  • Work closely with the core engineering team based in London, UK and, when required, with the engineering team based in Palo Alto in the US

  • Work with the internal team, customers, and external providers to formulate and agree detailed project plans.

  • Work with the product, marketing and commercial teams to understand business requirements.

  • Produce clear well-documented functional and technical specifications as required.

  • Produce reports for external customers and for internal communications as required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Proactive, self motivated professional who takes pride in his/her work

Advantageous:
