Data Engineer

Are you interested in Big Data? We are looking for a software engineer to join our Data Engineering team to help gain insights and build cool new features from the data generated by over 180 million Shazam users.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

You will help build and maintain Shazam’s next generation analytics and reporting platform, conduct data-driven experiments and help build applications using cutting-edge Big Data frameworks and languages.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A BSc in Computer Science

  • A strong academic background in mathematics

  • An interest in data mining and machine learning

  • Fluent in Java and a good knowledge of OO

We use a variety of frameworks including but not limited to Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spring, Maven, Tomcat, SQL and Redis.  We don’t expect you to know them all, but at least knowing what they are and having a desire to learn them is a good start.
