'Bad Girlfriend' by the Canadian hard rock band Theory of a Deadman is the second single released from their album 'Scars & Souvenirs'. The song reached number 1 in the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. It opens with a very catchy hard guitar riff by lead guitarist Tyler Connolly which instantly familiarises the listener with The Cult-esque sounds of the band. After the intro there is a short but well played guitar solo which gives the song a hard rock styling and makes the listener want to replay the tune many times over. The lyrics, reportedly based on lead singers Tyler's wife and how he believes that other men are in pursuit of her, appeal to a very wide audience helped by the fact that there are no heavy metal screams that could put the more conservative listeners off.
