2010 started off with a bang for Daisy Coburn as she found herself featured in a plethora of 'hot picks' lists. The Guardian, Sunday Times and BBC all predicted that she would be a chart force to be reckoned with and her first chance to prove them right was with the debut single 'Number One Enemy' (a shout to her sister) which saw the 16 year old team up with the relatively mature Chipmunk (a ripe 19 years) for a youthful chart assault. 'Number One Enemy' starts off as a relatively lightweight slice of pop, with Daisy singing along in full Essex accent to a mid-tempo guitar track, aided by some judicious Auto-Tune. However things take a turn for the noisier in the chorus as the amps gets cranked up, providing a decent contrast with the verse and indicating that perhaps Daisy wasn't fibbing when she listed bands like The White Stripes and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs among her influences. Chipmunk's section sounds a little incongruous in a band driven pop song but he delivers like the true professional he has become. A special mention must be made for the video which not only has coloured sheep but also features Daisy wedged under a giant cupcake.
