Eagle Eye Cherry had a lot of expectation on his shoulders before releasing his solo material. His sister, Neneh Cherry was already a well respected female solo artist and his father was the late Don Cherry, an avant-garde jazz icon from the late 1950s and 60s. Coming from this musical background, Eagle Eye set his own standards with this mellow, soft rock tune coming out in 1998 and earning him a worldwide hit. It charted impressively in over 10 countries worldwide and nearly grabbed the top spot in Sweden, reaching number 2. Success in the US was particularly notable with 'Save Tonight' hitting an impressive number 5 on their Hot 100. Although the subject matter could delve us into sadness, the upbeat rhythm of the song enables the listener to have remembrance without heartbreak. It instead focuses on moulding the moment and keeping it forever as an unspoilt memory. This catchy acoustic song, taken from the album "Desireless", rolls in the summer sounds of relaxation and lyrically holds onto that one more night with a love you never want to let go.
