Shazam's Review

'Iron Man' is an iconic slab of classic Black Sabbath. Appearing on the their second album 'Paranoid', 'Iron Man' cemented Ozzy and co. in the annals of influential heavy metal for all eternity. Many would purport that its timelessness lies in its memorable riff, but while this may be true, it's far more a reference point to Ozzy's inimitable singing style, "Has he lost his mind, can he see or his he blind"... "Now the time is here, for Iron Man to spread fear" - simple yet effective. It's little wonder that Sabbath are credited with being the first ever heavy metal band, which while arguable certainly says something for the impact the group have had on the minds of several generations of disaffected youth. Simply put, if there was no Sabbath the metal world would be bereft of a million and one bands that they've deeply inspired. 'Iron Man' marks Black Sabbath's move from the blues-based tracks of their self-titled debut to the heavier sound that would mark their future. ~ Will Stone.
