"Fat Lip" is the lead track of triple platinum album, 'All Killer, No Filler' and the most successful song in the career of for Canadian pop punk band Sum 41. The track topped the US Modern Rock Tracks chart. Along with the recognizable high tempo pop punk sound, Sum 41 include elements of raping, although very tongue in cheek. The song is about the the band's life growing up in the suburbs of Ontario and lots of people can relate to it as teenagers, whether it be your current adolescent life or by the effect of nostalgia. The anthem feel of this track contributed to their mainstream success and continuing exposure in video games, film and TV, including 'Smallville' and 'American Pie 2'.
