Battlefield Jordin Sparks |
||
|
Jordin Sparks found fame after becoming the youngest ever winner of the television talent show American Idol. She neatly stepped out of the shadow of the competition with a debut album in 2007 that contained 4 US Top 20 singles, the highlight of which was the hugely successful 'No Air'. 'Battlefield' has a distinct soft rock influence courtesy of One Republic's Ryan Tedder who performed production and writing duties on the track. Reminiscent of Tedder's previous work with R&B divas, specifically Beyonc‚'s 'Halo' and Leona Lewis' 'Bleeding Love', 'Battlefield's' intro and verses build slowly and melodically to a swelling heartfelt chorus. A track that perfect displays the vocal gymnastics that first caught the attention of Simon Cowell and company, 'Battlefield' was an important piece of the puzzle in turning Jordin Sparks from a US sensation into a well know international R&B name.~S.Ayling.~ Copyright (c) Shazam Entertainment Limited 2009.
