A Little More Country Than That Easton Corbin |

Easton Corbin set out his stall with this, his debut single from June 2009. Written by Rory Lee Feek (of Joey & Rory fame) Don Poythress and Wynn Varble it's a track that firmly established Corbin as a paid-up member of the Country music elite, drawing glowing comparisons with George 'King Of Country' Strait. Just as the guitar and fiddle instrumentation is steeped in tradition, so too are the lyrics, extolling the virtues of a rural environment as opposed to “a brick home in a school zone with the doors locked and alarms on”. Although he didn't write the track Corbin sings it like he means it - one can easily imagine him tipping his cowboy hat to the ladies before jumping in his truck and driving off into the sunset. Signed to Mercury after working in a Nashville hardware store and gigging at night, Corbin started off on the right foot with this track which received wide airplay and slotted in at a comfortable number 6 on the Country Music Charts. ~Martin Gadgil.
