Shazam's Review
Produced by Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Descendents), 'Famous' is a slab of relentless power rock that should blow away any cobwebs in your speakers without too much trouble. Starting with some tuneful and deceptively quiet guitar picking that lulls you into a false sense of security, it's only a matter of seconds before the rest of the band are unleashed and the track really gets going. Borrowing lines from Dire Straits ('money for nothing and the chicks for free') and Rage Against The Machine ('pocket full of shells'), lead singer Wes Scantlin's voice stands out well, projecting itself over the wall of guitars that form the bedrock of the song. Surprisingly the track didn't do that well in the US charts, failing to make the top 100 at all, although the follow-up single 'Psycho' performed much better, continuing the forward momentum established by the bands major label début album, 2001's 'Come Clean'.
