While 'Come On Get Higher' has opened many people's eyes to the acoustic charms of Matt Nathanson, his success was by no means achieved overnight. The single is taken from the American troubadour's sixth studio album, 'Some Mad Hope'. While originally released to acclaim in 2008, the track has seen resurgence in interest. Surely helped when Nathanson performed it on high profile shows such as the "Late Show With David Letterman" and "Ellen". While he doesn't quite match 'Let's Get It On' for references to bedroom gymnastics, 'Come On Get Higher' is littered with metaphors to the act of you know what. This is sure to win Nathanson a place in many hearts that melt at the sight of a man and a guitar. This is wistful acoustic rock for fans of Jack Johnson, John Mayer & Paolo Nutini. ~Jon Davies.
