Who Am I To Say

Who Am I To Say

Hope

Hope did one single, produced by Warren Kendrick (the Litter, the Electras, the Paisleys) for his Peace label. They were pleasing, if not too remarkable, gentle pop-rock songs with a folky feel and a touch of orchestration, emphasizing singer John Tuttle's high, almost effeminate voice. The other three members of Hope had been in the Castaways, the Minneapolis band famous for their one-shot garage-pop hit "Liar, Liar" in 1965. Both songs from the Hope single, "Of Times You Can See" and "Greenhouse," are on the Arf! Arf! compilation The Scotty Story, which assembles 30 tracks that Kendrick produced for his labels. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
