Shazam's Review

As highlighted by Flight Of The Conchords, there is often a seam of relentless optimism shown by artists breaking out of New Zealand and Natasha Bedingfield certainly carries on that tradition - even though she's technically English. 'Pocketful of Sunshine' is a three minute, slightly anodyne affirmation that life ain't all that bad after all and that everything is going to be all right. It certainly worked out that way for Bedingfield after her brother Daniel left NZ and shot to the top of the UK charts with 'Gotta Get Through This'. Natasha didn't take too long to follow in his footsteps. Originally in a Christian electronic group called the DNA Algorithm, she released her first solo album 'Unwritten' in 2004 which was a smash hit - the title track being the most played track on US radio in 2006. Bedingfield also recorded a version of this song in 'Simlish', for the video game The Sims 2. ~Martin Gadgil. Copyright (c) Shazam Entertainment Limited 2009. All rights reserved  shazam
