The hunt for the new Amy Winehouse continues, but the path to global success opened by the trouble star gets more and more crowded every day. Anyone who ventures it will have to face the risk of being eclipsed by the Adele/Duffy double tsunami. However, Gabriella Cilmi's powerful voice -the surname's pronunciation is bound to be the subject of a few jokes-, at only sixteen is hard to be ignored. Top UK pop producers Xenomania (the team responsible for Cher's "Believe" as well as the most popular moments of Sugababes or Girls Aloud) are behind, making sure the Aussie born, London based teenager gets the right songs to shine with debut effort "Lessons to be learnt". The first of them, "Sweet about me", is a strong first step, spiked with enough pop and soul elements as to appeal as much to Winehouse's followers as to KT Tunstall’s or Joss Stone’s.
