'We Made It' was originally intended for Rhymes' eighth album 'Back On My B.S.', but never made it; taken off the record due to a switch of record label between the release of the single and the album. It still performed reasonably well as a single however; reaching 65 on the US Hot 100 and 10 in the UK charts - a feat that was helped by the fact that it sound tracked a number of sporting events. The fact that it was co-written by Linkin Park comes as no surprise as it bears the distinctive mark of the US band. Busta and LP's Mike Shinoda share rapping duties while Chester Bennington contributes his distinctive vocal style, albeit slightly more toned down than his usual, full throttle, efforts. Some mid tempo beats and a piano riff provide the base over which the boys lay down their lyrics describing how they overcame the odds despite facing insurmountable odds. ~Martin Gadgil.
