Launching a successful career after spending five years as the bit part MC in UK Garage girl group Mis-Teeq was always going to be a hard task, but it looks as though Alesha Dixon may just pull it off yet. After spending the early part of her career as a sort of British Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez, delivering lines in a style that substituted real rapping talent with an ability to merge six or seven words into one, Alesha looks to have pulled off a successful rebrand with 'Strictly Come Dancing'. By Fox-Trotting her way onto the nation's TV’s last year, Ms Dixon has given herself a platform to start a fresh pop career that admittedly looks to be focusing on Alesha's moves rather than her vocal performances. Using a backbeat that seems to have been prised from 'Mambo No. 5' and lyrics that could just as easily accompany a Cilit Bang advert, 'The Boy Knows Nothing' safely inhabits the world of catchy, throw away pop. However, that's not to say the single's bad. In fact, when put to the slick accompanying video where Dixon, along with a whole troop of long legged dancers strut their stuff -the track makes enjoyable viewing. As long as the masses remain obsessed with Celebrity Samba and Bruce Forsyth's doddery gags then 'The Boy Knows Nothing' stands every chance of becoming a serious hit.  shazam
