Shazam's Review

Many would feel Kelly Clarkson, the first product to roll out of the 'American Idol' pop factory, has set a standard that no other contestant has since reached. After winning the original show in 2002 she managed to maintain a steady career trajectory with chart topping singles such as 'My Life Would Suck Without You' and the irrepressibly catchy 'Since U Been Gone'. In 2009 she released her fourth long player 'All I Ever Wanted' which again went to number 1 on the album charts Stateside. The third single from that album was power ballad 'Already Gone', co-written with Ryan Tedder of One Republic fame. Tedder has in fact penned tracks for a long list of artists, including the hugely successful 'Bleeding Love' by Leona Lewis. Based around a string section and drum kit the track pushes Clarkson's impressive vocal to the front allowing her to carry the tune. With plenty of space in the production, the strings and vocals complement each other to create a sense of melancholy, not unlike Beyonce's 'Halo' - another track that was written by Tedder. ~Martin Gadgil.
