Shazam's Review

How does a singer like Kelly Rowland follow a successful stint in one of the most popular all-girl groups of all time and also escape from the large shadow that surrounds a certain Beyonce's solo career? With difficulty, that's how? She managed two full-length albums with Columbia Records, but released herself from her contract whilst working on her third effort, after not reproducing the success she had found round the world on home turf. She has cleverly decided to branch out and steer away from the over-crowded RnB solo female singer sector into a more pop/dance arena. She has also added acting to her umbrella too, whilst promising fans that there will indeed, one day, be another collection of her own material. This career change resulted in the massive tune 'Work' in 2007, which thanks to the Freemasons help pushed her into most international charts. Her current collaboration "When Love Takes Over" is a stompin euro-dance anthem, with a certain Mr David Guetta pulling the strings in the melody and production. The piano reminds us slightly of Coldplay's 'Clocks', but this is soon forgotten by the end of the track, due to the vocal masterclass delivered by Ms. Rowland. Catchy as hell, anthemic and with that big-room electro-house sound, this could end up being THE tune of the summer in Ibiza and around the globe. Diva-tastic!! S.Ayling.
