More examples of the current new wave of Eurodance invading our charts; 'You and I' was originally released in Danish as 'Kun for Mig' during the Autumn of 2008, fruit of the collaboration between this half Dane/half Chilean female singer with the production team Providers. A slow burner, the track didn't really leave the boundaries of the club circuit until well entered 2009, but it has finally become the biggest song of the year in Denmark. Now Medina looks set to take on every corner of the planet after recording an English version, helped by a number of strong remixes, including one by the Omni-present dance wizard Deadmau5, which certainly won’t hurt its chances to become a worldwide smash. The Canadian producer, who has also released his own album, speeds the midtempo vocals up and adds a cool bassline plus layers of synths to the song, which nicely reinforces its mass appeal. ~Roberto González~ Copyright © Shazam Entertainment Limited 2009.
