Shazam's Review
Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga launched her second album 'The Fame Monster' with this raunchy single. Starting off with some self-referential chanting (ga-ga, la-la, ra-ra) a dance beat accompanies the verse as producer RedOne sends an attack formation of angry synths swarming over Gaga's art-school delivery. The chorus comes as a marked contrast with a short spoken section breaking into a fairly commercial hook as the keyboards tone themselves down a few notches. It's a game of two halves really, the verse livened up considerably by Gaga's vocal performance and the chorus aiming for chart dominance. RedOne is clearly having a ball in the producers chair and his willingness to throw a few curve balls into the mix suits Gaga's eccentric-lady-about-town persona perfectly. 'Bad Romance' continued her run of chart successes, following 'Just Dance' and 'Pokerface' into the top five around the world.
