Straight Tequila Night
John Anderson
Saxophonist John Anderson started gigging in the '70s, mostly in blues and rock bands including the Blues Controversy, a band he started with bassist Keith Carolan. Anderson hails from the west coast, and played on several albums by the Orange County Christian retro-swing band known as both Flight 180 and the more grounded 180, the latter hopefully the name of a band and not the price the group is getting for an engagement. One of Anderson's specialties is the baritone sax, and using it to weld together a horn section sound that is more like the underside of a well-built car than a backbone; many a West Coast blues band has shuffled off for miles on it. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, Rovi
