Ward Thomas
Cartwheels
Album · Country · 2016 · Sony Music CG
The (twin) queens of Britain’s fledgling country scene strike gold. Hampshire twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas’ charming debut From Where We Stand was one of 2014’s feel-good success stories. Its successor is a noticeably more confident set of graceful country-pop, given a knowing, British lyrical spin. “Guilty Flowers” is a bulletproof anthem for the wronged, and “Good on You” is a real Nashville tear-jerker.
