It sets an incredibly high bar for Nadia Reid’s second album, but one the Kiwi meets effortlessly. She’s a versatile songwriter, moving gracefully between ethereal folk (“I Come Home to You”, “Ain’t Got You”) and arch, acidic country (“Richard”, “The Way It Goes”)—all delivered with a likeable lack of showiness and a storyteller’s warmth.
