While he still qualifies as a teen idol, there’s a new ache in Jonatan Sanchez’s voice, as if he’s somehow lived through years of romantic turmoil between albums. All of that pain comes pouring out on “Practico, Romantico,” a standout ballad on this surprisingly mature sophomore effort. Necesito una Compañera isn’t all tales of loss and longing, of course. Sanchez is clearly having a blast as a breakout star, and his boyish enthusiasm remains downright contagious on banda-goes-pop gems like the sultry “Esa Nina.”
