The London producer clearly has a clever way of balancing the eras and scenes that have inspired him: “Jacks Axe” sets the chord stabs of old-school rave to a UK garage bounce, while “Push Control” reroutes plunging bass and time-stretched vocals into a jacking house groove. And “The Bounce” wraps up a minor-key bass riff in buzzing synths and cavernous reverb, evoking mid-‘00s electro-house at its peak-time prime.
