It’s clear from the burning shuffle ‘n’ boogie of “I Need Never Get Old” that Nathaniel Rateliff’s band came here to make you sweat. The loose and lively Americana of their debut—not so different from classic rockers The Band—never fails to find a groove. But they switch it up all over the place: The gospel blast of “S.O.B.” and its blaring horns will get feet moving and hands clapping, while “Shake” and its Southern slither should inspire simmering slow dancing.
