Scissor Sisters
Night Work
Album · Pop · 2010 · Polydor Records
Scissor Sisters fuse glam’s strutting grooves to diamond-studded dance pop on their third full-length, which was produced by 21st-century electro-pop master Stuart Price. Jake Shears’ saucy vocals turn the giddy title track and the slinky “Whole New Way” into feisty anthems for bleary-eyed after-hours revelers; “Fire with Fire” opens with Elton John-saluting balladry before blooming into a dancefloor-ready rallying cry for those who live and love amid the city’s squalor. Scissor Sisters’ hip-thrust into new territory adds dimension and dazzle to their already-fabulous vibe.
