But the band doesn’t just sing about the end of days—they scream it with a suffocating bleakness. “Blood Sermon” is a gory battle between blackened guitars and a bludgeoning rhythm section, and “I Am the Spell” takes a screeching nosedive into hardcore shaded with sinister psychedelia. The closing title cut is nothing less than a requiem for all of humanity, as singer Dwid Hellion howls over majestically funereal guitars.
