While writing his 15th studio album, 2020’s Speed Of Life, Gold Coast country singer Adam Brand’s spirits were buoyed by the impending birth of his daughter. The songs that resulted from that time of possibility are notably optimistic, uplifting, and imbued with the kind of calm that comes from a satisfied mind. Look no further than the beachy “Life’s Been Good To Me,” on which Brand takes a moment to be grateful for what he’s got, or the funky “Freakin’ Weekend,” where he turns up the party. But optimism can have its serious side: On the dramatic “Fly,” Brand provides a blessing (and a little wisdom) to his daughter, and he teams up with singer Casey Donovan to offer some light in the darkness on the rousing duet “You Are Not Alone.”
