Two years on from his breakthrough “Tu AakeDekhle”, King makes his major-label debut with an EP that documents a man’s journey in search of “purpose, love and meaning”. Like he did on that previous smash hit, the rapper, songwriter and singer again demonstrates his knack for matching memorable melodies with catchy and reflective rhymes. His ’80s-reminiscent synth-pop adds depth to the romantic “Baazi”, the R&B ballad “Ektarfa” brings in some sumptuous sax and the enticing beats of “Sinner” end the EP on a high. Khwabeeda does indeed show purpose, love and meaning from a rap monarch on the rise.
